Product Review: L'Oreal De-Crease Eyeshadow Primer, possible dupe of UDPP?

Product: 5 out of 5
Packaging: 5 out of 5
Quality: 5 out of 5
Price: 5 out of 5
Overall: 5 out of 5
Price: $7-$8, drugstores

What they claim:

-Prevents creasing and fading for 8 hours.
-Use this unique eye shadow base to prevent creasing or fading, and to extend wear up to 8 hours.
-Can be used with powder, cream or gloss shadows.
-One universal shade suits all skin tones.
-Ophthalmologist tested.
-Fragrance free.

PROS: Same consistency as Urban Decay's Primer Potion (UDPP), this one is a bit creamier which may make it easier for some of you to work with, and it dries to a nice finish so you can apply your eyeshadows with no problem, like UDPP, it also enhances the vibrancy of your eyeshadows. You can find it easily, drugstores, Target, K-Mart, etc, it's also cheap! It comes on as a beige color that matches ALL skintones because it dries to an invisible finish. See-thru bottle so you see how much product you have left.

CONS: None!

Overall: It's a lot cheaper than the UDPP, and it's perfect for you gals on a budget!

As vibrant as UDPP! (I accidentally put a little more eyeshadow on the UDPP side!)

  4. GOOD! Finally something that rivals UDPP, lol. But yu know alot of people are still gonna go the UDPP route, just because of the name and the hype. I, for one, will be trying this out. Thanks!

  8. Some of you reading this blog may already know this, but when it seems like your tube of UDPP is running low, DON'T THROW IT OUT! Chop the top off of the tube with a serrated knife, and you'll see that there's still TONS of product left! This is because it gets stuck in the "bulb" part of the genie-bottle shaped tube.

Seriously, I did this after reading about it on another blog and I was shocked that there was sooooo much product left! After chopping off the top, I scraped it out with the wand applicator and placed the rest in a screw top jar.

So, try this and you won't be sorry! Promise!

  9. aww shucks! I should've read this review before I went and bought Too Faced Shadow Insurance after UDPP started getting gritty on me. I'll keep a look out for next time. Thanks for the review!

  10. Yes I think its just as good as udpp. I wonder does the brush go straight down the bottle just like the udpp. I bet there is a lot of product at the bottom and the fat part of the bottle. Won't know until you cut the bottle open.

  13. Nice thought but it only last half as long as UDPP on me. But I guess for half the price half the quality could be expected. Not that UDPP is rockin' my boat these days anyways.

  17. Amazing! Finally a UDPP dupe. I've been waiting and waiting. Keep us posted on what happens at the end of the bottle - one of my pet peeves is the way UDPP leaves all that extra product the wand can't reach.

I'm also intrigued by the "1/2 the wear" comment above- but it's not going to stop me from trying it.

    Thanks for the review.

  22. it would be great if l'oreal philippines could bring this here, I want to give this a try as it is super difficult o find UDPP here in Manila (actually there's NONE) and a lot of us gals have to order online, if L'oreal works as good as UDPP or almost, we're all going to be SOLD on this :) thanks

  24. Excellent!!! I've been *scouring* the Internet for the past few weeks looking for a good dupe to UDPP (the curse of being too pale is that nice neutral shadows don't show up well on me either), and I found a nice one by L'Oreal HiP, but it was apparently discontinued... =( I'm so glad that you reviewed this..!! Makes me want to pop by Walmart now to buy a tube!! Is this a new product or has it been out for awhile?
