Her name is Anastasia, she was so sweet to get me a giftcard from Cherryculture since things have been a bit rough on my end of the spectrum, and it was totally unexpected and sweet of her. She is proof (like MANY of you ladies) that there are good and kind-hearted people still left in this world. And like I told her, it's crazy how I consider you all close friends as oppose to some of the people I know in real life. The Pow Wow--meeting some of these wonderful people for the first time was such an exhilarating feeling. There's a bit of a stigma when it comes to "meeting people online", but it has always been such a positive experience for me; and Anastasia is one of those people I wanna add on my "People to meet" list. So thank you SO much Anastasia for your kind gesture, it truly means a lot!
Have any of you met people online? If so, how was that experience like?
I met my best friend online. I also met my fiance online, through a blog that I had. So, I can also say that I've had great experiences with people online.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds cliche, but I guess you just need to be careful about who you meet.
but you know me in real life!
ReplyDeleteanyway.....i get to see you agaaaaaaain. please don't have me do swatches alone anymore.
shit, I just realized I left my camera at home -______-*
anyway follow me on twitter!!
i've met such great filipina friends coz of blogging. i always look forward to seeing them everytime.
ReplyDeleteNessa, you are such a wonderful person so i'm not surprise with all the blessings you receive.. if you do have bad days, its just nature's way of balancing things. :) :) cheer up girl.. a lot of us here love and look up to you!
I've met a wonderful friend online when I was in college first year, and we became super good friends, I read his love stories til he got married, then we finally met 8yrs after here in the Philippines and it was really great! :)
ReplyDeleteI've also met a lot of blogger friends here in the Philippines and it's WONDERFUL!!! Though I haven't met those international bloggers yet, we've bonded through emails and life is just great to share wonderful stories with wonderful people :)
I do believe everybody has their own angels! :)
i met a good friend online. we've never met in person but we always give one another advice!
ReplyDeleteYes, I have met a batch of nice ladies online and became best friends for 3 years now; they become my sisters now. I guess we tend to share more intimate issues with online friends therefore we can click better when we first met.
ReplyDeleteNessa that's so amazing! Anastasia's really the sweetest and she was so great to do that for you!
ReplyDeleteI've met soo many amazing people through my blog. I know some people don't get it but the internet can be a wonderful place! <3
it's hard meeting people online b/c most people don't trust others. Like for me, if someone randomly commented me saying that they would like to get to know me even if they live in the same area and the same age, it's kind of awkward =P
ReplyDeletejust be careful
awww love, im so glad to hear that you're okay :)
ReplyDeleteone of my closest friends i actually met online :) i could tell him things that i couldn't tell anybody else! we have an awesome friendship :)
In middle school I met this girl online and talked for a while, and we exchanged addresses to write to each other. (yeah not so smart on my part, but my dad knew and allowed it) I was very isolated as a child and didn't have many friends, and she was sort of the same. We wrote to each other all the time, told each other deep dark secrets (cause of course we wouldn't gossip about each other). But since going to high school we stopped communicating. So same as you, I had a good experience!
ReplyDeleteMy husband of almost 7 years and I met on the internet in 1999 via ICQ. He was in England and I was in Boston, we courted long distance and traveled a lot, we moved to Atlanta in 2001 and that New Year's Eve, we got married. :)
ReplyDeleteI also met one of my closest friends through an eBay transaction in 2004. She was the winning bidder on a lot of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab perfume oil samples I was selling. When I saw her address was local, I invited her for lunch and we've been sniffing BPAL together on a regular basis since then.
I've met lots of other local BPAL fans at various meet and sniff events.
That's nice of her to get you a gift card! :)
ReplyDeletemy friend from my school introduced me to her guyfriend, whom i didn't know and never seen, and he introduced me to my current boyfriend--so in actuality, my boyfriend is someone i met in person from online! XDD sounds unsafe but it was linked friend -to- friend so it wasn't particularly very stranger-like. Me and my boyfriend have date for almost 4 years now.
ReplyDeleteand some other random person on my blog said they saw me at school! I thought my blog was very tiny but i guess not?? I never saw the person nor do i know what they look like but I find it such a weird, but interesting feeling that a person who read my blog identified me in person--AND at school where I look my worst!! XD haha
that's real sweet of her...
ReplyDeleteand to answer your question, not yet. but when i do meet y'all, i know that it'll be like as if we've known each other for yeeaars!
Glad to hear everything's ok with you & your family, Nessa... and yes, I made friends with amazing ladies online : )
ReplyDeleteI met a ton of people online back in my high school days when AOL chat rooms were the "in thing". One of them was my first boyfriend, and a handful of them I still keep in touch with from time to time. I've even hung out with a few of them too. The internet can be unpredictable nowadays, so I'm not really into meeting others that way anymore. But it's good to know that the people that I did meet back then are actually genuinely good people in person.
ReplyDeleteAwwh. I'm stuck missing Uni because of flu so this cheered me up, thanks babe. I feel loved =P <3
ReplyDeletewow that was so nice of her! i've met people online...some good experiences some bad...i met my boyfriend online! we were aim buddies for years and then finally met one day and look at us now :)
ReplyDeleteAh, that's so sweet! I wish there were more people like this in the world!
ReplyDeletei have met ppl online, but that's from my gaming experience, and my other friend had met them already so it was cool. i have however talked to more of my gaming ppl on twitter and even talked on the phone. its weird cause i'm not trusting, but gaming wise there has to be some trust. i sound like a dork don't i?

ReplyDeleteI met one of my close friends online! (: Through roleplaying. We've been friends for two years and counting and meet up regularly. :D
ReplyDeleteAww how sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteI have met a lot of people online actually, including my dear sweet WONDERFUL boyfriend, several years ago. I think there is less of a stigma about meeting people online now than there used to be. When people find out that Nick and I met online, they simply shrug and say "cool". I mean, we've known each other for about 5 years now (been dating a bit over a year though) so I'd like to think I know him well enough at this point to know he's not a nut. :P
My mom and my stepdad met through a dating service when I was 9, which isn't that different. Maybe it depends on how you're raised, etc. but my parents always just wanted me to be as careful as possible meeting new people and so far it's been really great. I've met so many awesome people I wouldn't have met otherwise, and made some amazing connections, including my possibly-maybe-future-life partner. ;)
