Bangs or no bangs? And Grand Duo thoughts...

This is a picture-less post unfortunately (in regards to the Grand Duos) since my local MAC Store had the Grand Duos IN the store but not out on display (meaning they were still nicely packed in their delivery box), so instead I walked over to Nordie's MAC counter, and they had it (my MAC store needs to pick up their game I know! Haha) I swatched it on my hand and I was a bit disappointed because they were way too shimmery for me (I forgot to take a pic of my swatch, argh). Don't get me wrong, I love me a little shimmer, but these were WAY too shimmery for my taste (just my personal opinion).

I DO love some of the colors however, and I do think they are workable perhaps with the brush that's in this collection or even with another blush (like a matte blush, etc). Maybe I just gotta have another look before I can really make up my mind...

Hopefully I can get around to posting my Purely Cosmetics goodies later today! There's just so many!

Anyway, I was looking at some old pics (as I am working on my sister's slideshow for her 18th birthday party, aren't I the best big sis ever?! LOL) and I found some older pics when I had bangs, at times they were straight across, and other times they were side sweep bangs, or just random layers...and I am thinking about getting bangs again just because I am bored with my hair already and I think I have my dad's huge forehead (yes Tyra Banks comes to mind haha). The BF loves bangs on me but then again I don't consider him a good judge since often times he's just pulling my leg!

So whatdya ladies think? Bangs or no bangs? I think they really change the face, and since I have the fattest cheeks in the world, I think bangs would take away from that and give an edgier look. My co-workers suggest I go a bit lighter and maybe get some highlights, but I love dark hair and how it brings people out, especially with my skintone I can't work light hair, but maybe subtle highlights (thinking maybe caramel)...argh I don't know! I just want something different...

    In my modest opinion the side swept bangs and hair with no highlights suits you the best! It makes you look natural and suits perfect to your face shape :)

    i really like you with bangs!! especially side swept bangs!! but either would be very pretty.. and i dont like highlights that much unless they are SUPER natural looking so i wouldnt get them... but its your hair do what you want!

    i say no bangs! :) but the bangs made you look very young which is not a bad thing :)

    i just got my bangs done like that too pretty much. i tried growing them out but it was a fail!
    ugh my face needs some sort of structure. i guess i just can't pull off "long bangs' or no bangs...
    idk.

    i got bored.

    do whatever you want but the side swept ones are cute! =]

    to tell you the truth, u look good wit the side swept bangs & full bangs. :)but the full bang makes you look edgier. maybe u should try gettin the full bang wit a lil highlights jus to try smethin new. i love ur hair color on the last pic. what is it? do u have it colored at the salon or at home?

    Girl! First of all, you don't have TYRA BANKS forehead! I swear Tyra's way huge! lol and..hmm.>I like you with side swept bangs, though the straight one is cute but it's not for everyday, it's a big hassle to have a straight bangs on your forehead (pimples and everything) <-- been there done that. So go for the length that you can go side swept..and ok enough for you to brush it straight on some days :)

    but i think you should keep your hair dark but put lowlights here and there, you know what i mean, just enough so that you can bring it out whenever you want a change or not. i love the side swept bangs.

    LOL you don't have a Tyra Banks forehead! I think I love picture 4 the best....also my hair is just like that right now hehe. Also subtle highlights would look great with your skintone. I'm looking for a change now too, hope you find something that works.

    I love your bangs they are soooo cute! I purchased the MAC Grand Duo Mineral Blush yesterday in Intenso. the color payoff is great, but I'm afraid that it will break easily. Two of the colors on the display at my location..were broken.

    I love the way you have your bangs in the first picture! Although sideswept bangs look just as good on you. And I'm generally not a fan of highlights unless they're peek-a-boos, which I think you would rock (and plus roots won't be as much of a problem! hahah)

    Thanks for saving me from Grand Duos. Blush that's too shimmery does not look good on my acne-prone skin! Phew, I probably just saved myself over $50 haha. BUT we'll see what happens when I end up at the MAC counter. LOL.

    I love the first pic with the chunky sideswept bangs. My bangs are the same way & I think they flatter most people if styled correctly. You should def do it!

    Choppy bangs (first picture) for sure! I don't like the blunt all the way across - makes you face look too square. But the way they are in the first pic is fun and light-hearted, just like you. And I LOVE those highlights!

    i'm diggin the side swept bangs a lot. i think those with light hightlights will be really good for spring/summer. you did look really cute with the straight bangs too but you do look a bit on the younger side with them. decisions,decisions!

    Side swept or no bangs at all... just make sure it's what u want before u do it cuz growing them out is a pain! I recently had my long bangs cut and I totally regret it!! ♥♥♥

    second to last photo side swept bangs are the best. long enough to hide so that it looks kind of like you don't have bangs but at the same time can look ilke elegant side swept bangs! frames your face really well! can you do a review on the new eyelash treatments coming out?? THANKS!!!

    i love the sideswept bangs, but make sure they hit under you eyebrows and blend into the rest of your hair well. i was upset that the grand duos were so shimmery too! i want earth to earth, its gorgeous, but i don't need to walk around looking like i fell into a vat of glitter. plush shimmer makes me look oily really fast.

    And maybe cutting your hair some inches (above breast, below shoulder) and adding layers around? Would help create volume to your hair and not look weighed down on you. You wouldn't even need highlights (and maintaining it) if you already did a big change to your hair, ya know?

    You look really good with straight across bangs!! But I know those can take a lot of maintenance and go in and out of style as quick as ponchos (I loved ponchos), so I vote for sideswept bangs (4th picture)

    I have chubby cheeks too!!!! And for years i have combated myself with what hair styles works best for my face shape.
    If you are really thinking of getting bangs, I think side swept bangs do wonders for a round shaped face. Also, long-length hair but not too long helps narrow the face--i just find that really long hair falls faster, time consuming, and not worth the hassle, it also weighs you down. Might i suggest a below the shoulder-length cut? I am going to agree those who say you should leave your hair without any highlights (it makes it look more natural). You have such beautiful hair! :h:

    Side swept bangs are always nice! They make you look younger and more feminine and innocent ;D My boyfriend loves bangs too! When I got my hair cut he could NOT stop looking at me because of my bangs lol

    Straight-across bangs. Hands down. It'll give you a very edgy look. =) Super nice and chic.
    I used to have side sweep bangs. Then 3 months ago, I got bored of it and my hairdresser suggested that I chop it off and go for a straight across. And guess what...I love it! :k: and I know you would too :h:

    i love the full bangs on you (2nd pic), but i know that can be a pain to maintain all the time...so sideswept bangs would be a good option for you too :) the style really makes you look younger (not that you don't already look young!)

    Omg Nessa, no joke, you have the PERFECT face for the choppy bangs (2nd picture, with the bangs all the way across your forehead). You look really pretty with side swept bangs as well, but the bangs all the way across make you look really cute and sweet (which I'm sure you are :) ).

    i say side swept bangs coz they grow out easily (and therefore easy to maintain) and are still modern and sexy.

    as for grand duos, i saw them today as well and i also thought they were too shimmery. i bought sunbasqued instead (coz i was planning on buying Earth to Earth, for a peachy summer shade) but I love my Sunbasqued, its perfect. And the shimmer on the GDs were like 10x more...

    i say bangs..just dont know which one since you look good in either way, straight across or side swept..highlights would be nice too i think..i am thinking of going back to light hair for summer..but it's just too hard to maintain..haha..i'm lazy..

    i really think you look great with straight bangs.. the 2nd pic. you have the face for it!

    & ugh grand duos... i agree lots of the colors were very pretty but the shimmed doesnt put me off much... the size does! i was thinking it might be the size of regular msf's? i skipped the collection all together.. i'll save up for one with full size msf's. :h:

    Vanessa, you are so adorable regardless of what you do with your hair but after seeing the pics, I really like the side swept/chunky bags. I recently got mine cut and am really loving it (even though I have to straight iron them everyday). Keep us posted on your decision and show us pics of course. I just love your Blog girly! :)

    I like you with side swept bangs not so much front bangs. But I think you should cut your bangs a little farther over, like the part where your side bangs start should be cut further to the left. No Highlights

    i think you look great w/ any hair. it does makes a difference. it's hard because i love having straight across bangs but since i have a round face i feel like sometimes it makes my face look rounder.
    anway, i think you look best w/ side swept :) it frames your face a lot better & i like you with dark hair as well

    Hey Vanessa!

    I think you look GORGEOUS with side swept bangs...so you MUST get them once again! However, you look equally stunning with your straight-across bangs--it makes you look very edgy, but some friends I know with the chunky bangs get tired of it after a while, and knowing how you get bored of things easily, why not stick with side bangs and if you want to change up your look, you can always do a pompadour pouf, pin up your bangs, or get fringe extensions (for the straight-across bangs look)! :D Stay beautiful and happy! <3

    #2- You look absolutely amazing with bangs not that you look bad without them either, but the bangs just freshen up your face and give you an edgier look! Seriously think of getting the bangs straight across!!
