teeze w/ eez teasing comb

.

I have very flat hair, with no volume to it whatsoever. I am sure if you have seen my past posts of my hair normally, it's just stick straight and flat. I try to tease it with the regular rat tail combs, but it gets very tiring and tedious, and not to mention that sometimes it yanks on your hair.

Decided to try the teeze w/ eez comb ($12-14, www.teezeweez.com), which is a professional teasing tool to give us flat haired gals more boost and volume. Because there are three rows of teeth, you backcomb easily in half the time, and it does not tangle your hair. Giving you nice volume with less work and hassle. It has a long handle that's easy to grip, and the teeth are made of anti-static stainless steal, so you don't have to worry about static head or flyaways.

I really like this teasing comb, it's different, and most of all- does the trick and gives my hair lots and lots of volume. I just spritz a bit of hairspray on my hair and tease, and voila. Definitely something I always use now because it totally makes a difference! Just check out the pictures below!

Marshalls Find - Swivel Storage Caddy for $6.99

.

This was posted on my other blog (for budget fashionistas!) at www.girlonabudget.com, but since it IS makeup related, reposted it here as well. :)

I use large pencil/pen cups from Staples & Office Depot to store my lipglosses, because they are cheap and they are the perfect height for my lipglosses, not too tall, and not too short. But i've been running out of space since I have so many lipglosses and found this little gem at the Marshall's by my work. It's a swivel storage caddy for only $6.99. I imagine it's really for pens and the like, but I thought this was great to store my lipglosses that do not have a home, and great for pretty much anything such as mascaras, makeup brushes, makeup pencils, etc.
What sold me was the swivel base, I like that it spins for easy access to my lipglosses when I am trying to pick a color. For all you artists, you can definitely decorate this and make it unique, in case the stark white is too plain; the all white matches my makeup room decor, so I am rolling with it.
They definitely have awesome finds at Marshall's. I also got a chic earring rack for $10 from there too (which will be in a separate post soon!)

New blog: www.girlonabudget.com

New site! (www.girlonabudget.com) I wanted to create something separate from the makeup world, where I can focus on fashion and budget friendly items; so consider this site as an extension of www.nessasarymakeup.com, so please follow and spread the word! I will be posting a lot on there in regards to outfits, fashion bargains (like "the look for less"), trending styles, styles on the street, what not to wear, accessories, storage, organizing, and tons more!

I will still be blogging about makeup occasionally (follow me on instagram for constant updates: @vanessajhaime), but just wanted to also explore a lot of things I have been seeing that are way out of my price range and find dupes or other alternatives for a budget fashionista!

MAC Hey Sailor! Collection (Pics & Swatches)

.

Woohoo! First "real" post in a long time! (Still gotta share wedding pics, which i'll save for another day soon since there's so many LOL.) So since i've been on hiatus, I haven't really bought much from any of the MAC collections that have been coming out, but Hey Sailor really intrigued me because of the blushes and bronzing powder, and originally I ordered only the eyeshadow in Jaunty, lipstick in Sail La Vie, Bronzing Powder in Soft Sand, and the Shore Leave Pro Longwear lipliner; but when I went back to the MAC store, the MUA sold me on the blushes and the highlighting powder! HAHA, I ended up loving them too!

"Jaunty" (Frost) eyeshadow makes a nice pretty highlight color, it's a light pearl champagne color with a lovely texture so it's easy to apply. "Sail La Vie" is a nice reddish orange color, definitely more wearable than some of the orange lipsticks i've been seeing. It's a lot more muted than Morange and goes well with any skintone I feel. Shore Leave lipliner is a pretty color all in itself, I wish they made a lipstick this color, I tried to put it all over my lips to rock it by itself, but it was way too drying and chalky for me to wear alone and was going on a bit steaky. I even put a tiny bit of chapstick to see if that helps, but sadly it didn't. :(

"Launch Away!" blush is a super pretty pale pink, but when applied it goes on as a nice soft natural pink because it has a little pop of brightness to it giving you nice "dolly cheeks". I originally thought this was going to be chalky but when I swatches it, I really liked it! "Fleet Fast" was the first thing I had my eye on because I don't really have any blushes that are like this color. Many of my blushes are either pink or coral, and this is just the hybrid of the two because it's like a gorgeous natural looking coral pink blush with a hint of shimmer which looks awesome when paired with the bronzer and highlighting powder. I just love the way it looks on my light skin, gives a nice warmth to your face.

The bronzing powder "Soft Sand" is just PERFECT with my skin because many bronzers are way too dark for me, even the lightest bronzers gives a weird color on and can tend to look orangey. But soft sand is perfect, even with a heavy hand, it never goes on too dark, just the right amount of color to add depth and definition.

So there you have it! Enjoy the pics!

What this slacker has been up to LOL....

I know, I know, I always promise to stay but something manages to pull me away and it's hard to maintain. Blogging is a full-time, dedicated thing. A drive I once had, and currently struggling to find the natural flow of being back into this territory. I don't even think my fingers recognize this place lol. Even though it's nessasarymakeup, I think I am slowly transitioning to other areas of my brain, so there WILL be sporadic posts of anything that comes to mind. Fashion posts, crafty posts (I will post about how I made some of my wedding stuff for you engaged gals. I couldn't post them before since I was trying to keep everything under wraps!). So you've been warned. :)

I am hoping I can stick around this time, even if not everyday, often. That's doable. I barely try to do makeup looks nowadays, usually sporting tinted moisurizer, eyeliner, mascara and some gloss which has become my "everyday look". I wouldn't be surprised if people even read this anymore, but at least it's a place for me, it's well.....home.

Well the reason this time that i've been MIA, is that I was busy planning a wedding--MINE! Given that we made mostly everything, a lot of prep work was needed in order to stay sane. I got married almost a month ago, March 25, 2012 to the love of my life and we just got back from our honeymoon in Hawaii about a week ago. So much to update on and post about, I am just trying to do things at my pace so I don't get discouraged from continuing to write here. I apologize for any questions that went unanswered. I will eventually catch up to the blogging world!

Professional wedding photos should be arriving tomorrow or sometime this week so I will do an official "wedding post" and shower it with pictures so there's proof of my absence haha. In the meantime, I know I didn't get a chance to post any of our engagement photos we took back in January, so here are just a few from our AWESOME photographer, Kevin Le Vu. Please check him out if you are looking for a photographer, he's truly talented!
