***PLEASE READ***Some of you have asked me questions regarding this collection, to clarify:
Antiquitease COLOR- Meaning everything BUT the brush sets and Palettes (both lip and eye) WILL BE available in stand alone MAC and PRO stores Thursday Oct. 18th for purchase.

So Chastity and I went to the MAC Event in Glendale YESTERDAY, there was a long line, packed store full of people waiting to get their hands on the new holiday collection Antiquity. It was so hot and yucky in there after awhile but boy was it so worth it! I snuck my cell phone in and took some pics!
We spent over $200 on our new loot, the brush sets and the palettes were pre-ordered as these are available October 25.
Here are the brush sets:
I love the new holiday pigments "Your Ladyship" and "Sweet Sienna", they are just gorgeous! And don't get me started on the baked mineralized eyeshadows "Silversmith" and "Family Silver"! They are to DIE for! They are all just beautiful colors, I think it was our favorite of the bunch. The lip glasses personally were ok, not enough to make me purchase any, there is one I think called "Trifle" it looks exactly like the "Lightswitch" lipglass from the 3D Collection. The lipsticks are a bit sheer for me, the pink one ("Her Fancy") is a nice sheer pink.
I am telling you we went CRAZY! It was A LOT of fun though and I am glad that we were able to preview them before a lot of people and get our hands on it.
Now for the pics!

Alexander McQueen and other things...
Labels: Fashion, MAC
So the whole day, the Alexander McQueen collection was on my mind, finally after work I stopped by the MAC store and surprisingly I wasn't really impressed. This is definitely one collection that you can pass up. I DID end up getting the lipstick in "Masque" because from all the swatches I saw online before the release, I was already in love. I am still debating on the "Otherworldy" paint pot, it's such a pretty color but would I really use the entire paint pot??? Probably not.
Swatch:
Of course I got more stuff...
I also bought 2 purses for $70! Since I was looking for an "airport" bag for when I go to NY (first week of November, it's a BUSINESS trip), these bags were perfect to store all my stuff!
The inside is PINK!
And a black duffel bag looking one:

My purty laptop, "gracious me", and EOTD
Labels: MAC, MascaraSorry I haven't really posted today, i've been super busy at work as I had a project due AND have been preparing for my trip to the Big Apple...New York City! I don't know why I get excited each time I go (I go there like twice a year); I think it's because I love how cold it is over there around November and I just love it because it reminds me of "Home Alone" haha.
I also had to take my car to the dealership today to get my brakes and rotors replaced. The damage? $500. Ouch, I know. My wallet is still stinging but I have to get it done right?? It saddens me to think I could have instead, have spent that $500 at Sephora, ULTA, or MAC. Sigh. I mean who needs a car right?! LOL just kidding.
Tomorrow the McQueen collection is out! My girl Chastity and I are gonna be hitting up the mall on Sunday to do what else but SHOP 'till we drop! I am excited! I want a Nintendo DS so bad, I think I wanna buy the pink one and play with it on the plane on the way to NY.
I got a skin for my laptop, so now it looks girly and pretty!
I bought another MAC Shadestick in "Gracious Me", a silvery pearl pink, this too is just stunning!
I bought the newest mascara from L'Oreal at WalMart last night, it's suppose to separate each lash and intensify it, which it did--sorta. It didn't really separate each lash like it says it does, I still found that my lashes would clump without me combing it out.
Here is my EOTD, I used Everyday Minerals eyeshadow in "Bundle" as the all over highlight as well as in the inner corners, MAC eyshadow in "Vex" on lid just above the crease, MAC Smoke Signals Quad colors "Gentle Fume" on outer V and Contour, MAC "Carbon" in Outer V and Outer Crease, and Viz-a-violet pigment near the outer lid.
The one thing I love about coming home to the BF, is the sweet surprises he does, I came home from work to find sweet notes taped everywhere, or in the drawers. He is just too cute! I gotta say, I love my Bubba Bear! He has nice writing eh? He used to tag those means streets of Azusa back in the day...lol jk. Or am I?

Superior Customer Service
So this entry is a complete opposite of my previous entry, Cheryl, the lady I bought the eyeshadow piggies from (in which my package is lost) is SOOOO unbelievably helpful! She emailed me with suggestions to try and rectify my lost package ordeal so I am definitely going to try and do that.
But I am so impressed with her outstanding customer service. No one I have ever encountered with has ever gone above and beyond for a customer, and she definitely does. She could have easily ignored my email about the situation, or could have replied "too bad", but she replied sincerely and has offered her help and I am just so grateful and appreciative of that.
If only everyone in this world would take the time to be as considerate and thoughtful as she is, the world would be a better place!
Thanks Cheryl!
I HATE USPS
So USPS loses my package! On top of that, the supervisor at the branch closest to me tries to tell me that the construction workers took it (my house is a new development so they are building more houses, etc), or my neighbors took it...seriously what the hell would they do with jars filled with mineral eyeshadows!??? Ugh.
What kind of customer service is that? He wasn't even helping me locate the damn package, just making excuses and blaming everyone else. I told him to take accountability for it.
If you gals lost a purse I wouldn't add salt to the wound by saying "Oh well maybe someone stole it", I would say "We'll find it, i'll help you look".
Argh, you bet I called and filed a complaint. I lost my money AND my package. Ugh.

Reader Question: Allergic reaction to liquid eyeliner
Labels: Eyeliners, Reader QuestionsQ: Hey Vanessa!
I just wanted to say I love reading your blog, I read it like a religion, hehe. I've always used a stick eyeliner but decided to change to liquid. I bought Wet n Wild liquid eyeliner in Megaliner. When I put it on I got a burning and itching sensation. I didn't understand why, the only thing I'm allergic to is bleach. Do you have any theories of why this happened? I'm scared to get a different liquid liner now. Thanks!
__________________________________________________________________________________
A: Hi Mary!
I am glad you asked me this because I have the same experience with SOME liquid eyeliners. Prestige liquid eyeliners and surprisingly MAC liquidlast eyeliners give me a burning sensation recently to the point where I find myself scrambling for a makeup wipe to wipe it off because it stings so much! I am not quite sure what causes these allergic reactions, as I don't experience this with my Revlon Colorstay Liquid eyeliner in "Blackest Black", nor do I experience this with my Indelible Gel Eyeliner.
I suggest you give the Indelible Gel Eyeliner a shot if you have a steady hand because it's very soft and creamy, easy to move and use, and perhaps won't cause such a reaction. Also, try using different drugstore brands such as Maybelline or Covergirl and see if those do the same thing, if you purchase from Rite-Aid (not sure what state you live in), but some drugstores have a very lenient return policy in which you CAN return opened makeup items in the event it doesn't work out.
Hope that helps!

Teal Tutorial
Labels: Eye Makeup Photos, TutorialsEver since I bought the Teal pigment, I have been dying to use it, so I used it for the first time yesterday along with my other pigment from MMBB (My Mineral Bath & Body) in "Black Emeralds", I also used MMBB mineral eyeshadow in "Highlights" as my over all lid base and highlight.
So here is tutorial on the look I did!
Tools I used, not shown is L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara and the Teal pigment (but it's shown a few posts down).
Black Emeralds Pigment on Outer-V:
Objective:
I first applied my primer (UDPP), my MAC Paint Pot in "Painterly" to neutralize my lid color, then applied MMBB's "Highlights" all over my entire lid.
To get this RESULT:
Line your eyes and mascara...and line the bottom with the teal pigment, I also used my Covergirl gel eyeliner in "Slate" on the waterline.

NYX Trio and ICING Palette Swatches
Labels: NYX CosmeticsHere are some swatches from the "Lake Moss" NYX trio, the one on the very left is similar to MAC's "Beauty Marked":
And from the ICING Palette I purchased a few months ago...
I am trying to get a tutorial going using some of these colors in the palette, just have been so busy and enamored by the MAC Pigments!
