Went to Walmart the other day and came across this Conair heat resistant pouch and mat roll for $7.98! And that's the regular price! Since I recently got the NuMe Style Flat Iron and the Le Angelique Clipless Curling Iron, I needed a place I can store them in and that was also heat resistant so that I can store it immediately after use when I travel, and to have a place to set it on when I am doing my hair. Since these hair stylers get really hot, you can't just set them anywhere without risk burning your table or things around it. So I am really glad I came across this because it does the job without breaking my wallet!
The design is super cute, and matches my pink hot tools (they have a few other designs as well); the pouch itself is removable (so you can get rid of the bulk of the roll and just use it as a storage pouch), it's fastened to the mat by Velcro. When you open the roll (which has two large buttons to keep it closed), the large space you unroll is the heat resistant mat, it's large enough to hold a variety of regular and slightly larger curling iron sizes. The inside of the pouch is also insulated with heat protection material so you no longer have to wait for your curling iron or flat iron to cool. The entire roll itself is lightweight and easy to tote around and I was able to still fit my heat resistant glove in the pouch as well.
The only con I can say is that the pouch itself *may* not be big enough to hold larger curling irons or flat irons (taking into consideration their cords).
PROS:
- The price! Can't beat $7.98 and does the job!
- Removable zippered pouch- I like that it gives me the option to get rid of any bulk from the roll
- Pouch and mat in one is handy
- Comes in a few more other designs
CONS:
- May not fit super large curling irons or flat irons.
Where to buy: Walmart stores (did not see this on their website, www.walmart.com)
How much? $7.98

Kim Kardashian Inspired Look

A few weeks ago I saw this pic online of gorgeous Kim Kardashian, and what was so striking to me were the hot pink lips and of course the sexy sultry cat eyes, but mainly the lips, LOL! Even though her pic is a bit washed out so it's hard to tell the true colors, you can still sorta get an idea of how it probably looks like up close. I am a lipstick kind of a gal, so I was excited to play around with a similar look and do a hot pink lip.
It was just an inspired look, meaning I just wanted to do something similar but with my own little twist just for fun. I am in no way saying it looks like KK's version, or that I am KK, lol. I thought i'd add some false lower lashes for a more dramatic effect, but the bottom two pics were taking from my cell phone and are without the lower lashes since it wasn't the 'finished' product yet.
I kept the lid simple and basic, just applied MAC e/s in "Bisque" and "Bamboo" all over the lid, then applied Revlon's liquid eyeliner in "Blackest Black" to mimic a cat eye and winged it out as well as on the inner corner of my eyes (if you look closely her eyeliner is also pointed on the inner corners of her lids), the upper & lower lashes are from KKcenterHK.com, and lined the bottom with a no-name black eyeliner and smudged it out.
My camera made my blush look way darker than it was in person for some reason, but it was a lot lighter than shown! I used my Verhoeven Bronzer, and a mix of Tarte "Tipsy" blush and MAC "True Romantic". I applied a dab of MAC MSF in "Petticoat" on the apples of my cheeks for a little shimmer. And lastly, for the lips I used NYX lipliner in "Bloom" and Covergirl Lipstick in "Spellbound".
[What I used]:
[Face]
Lancome Teinte Idol Ultra Foundation in Bisque 0 (W)
Graftobian HD Powder in "Soft Ivory"
Mary Kay Concealer in "Yellow"
[Eyes]
MAC e/s in "Bisque" and "Bamboo" all over the lid
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black
No-name black eyeliner on lower lashline
KKcenterHK lashes on top and bottom (forgot the style)
Eyebrows (MAC e/s in "Espresso)
[Cheeks]
Mix of MAC "True Romantic" and Tarte "Tipsy" Blush
A dab of MAC MSF in "Petticoat" for shimmer
Verhoeven Bronzer for contouring
[Lips]
- NYX Lipliner in "Bloom"
- Covergirl Lipstick in "Spellbound"
When I was starting the look...it wasn't yet finished:

MAC Brow Set in "Girl Boy"
Labels: Eyebrows, MAC
Described on the MAC Website as: A brush-on gel that strokes brows into shape. Adds shine and style. No flaking or stiffening. Tinted or clear. Also grooms lashes, sideburns and facial hair.
I was previously using Anastasia's Brow Gel in "Caramel" which is my HG when it comes to brow gels because it gives a nice natural tint and keeps my eyebrows in place all day without feeling sticky or stiff. I decided to try and find something that's a bit cheaper, and found MAC Brow Set in "Girl Boy", it's described as "fawn-blonde" in color ($15.00, www.maccosmetics.com). The reason I got something lighter than my normal eyebrow color is because I noticed that shades that are my color are a tad bit too dark, so I tend to go a shade or two lighter when it comes to eyebrow gels because it looks more natural and not as bold.
I am loving this brow set so far! It has a thin, easy-to-use brush so you can precisely set your brows and gives a nice subtle tint, and it does a great job at keeping any stray hairs in place.

I know, I know, i've been slacking on posts, I have SO much to post about too but it's so hard to find the time lately because I have been so busy at work and by the time I get home, all I wanna do is sleep! But I received my MAC Surf Baby goodies in the mail the other day, and finally got around to doing some swatches...I didn't get a lot from this collection; as usual I only ended up getting two lipsticks- "Hibiscus" (cremesheen) and "Mocha" (Satin, and is part of the permanent line) and a back up of "Strange Potion". I originally got it when Venomous Villains came out, but I loved it so much I thought id buy a back-up!
I adore the packaging of this collection, I love how the lipstick tubes remind me of little surfboards, and the Hibiscus flower is a nice touch because I absolutely love Hawaii and it was nice to have a lil something to remind me of my vacation when I went a year ago with my sisters.
The lipsticks are super pretty, I wasn't sure about "Hibiscus" when I ordered it online, I thought it might be too out there for me, but because it's a cremesheen, it's the right amount of color and it's definitely wearable! I think this is definitely a shade anyone can pull of regardless of skintone or complexion. It's just such a pretty coral, reddish color and pairs wonderfully with a neutral eye look.
"Mocha" is part of MAC's permanent line so no need to rush to get it, but I am glad I got this color because I never really paid attention to this color, and it being in this collection really brought it to light. It's a nice medium terracotta brown, has a tinge of orange and red undertones, but it's a really pretty color! I am a sucker for earth tones, and MAC "Cherish" l/s is my all-time favorite everyday lipstick, so "Mocha" is definitely up there at quickly becoming a staple in my bag.

Le Angelique Clipless Curling Iron
Labels: Hair, Product Reviews
I love clipless curling irons, even though they can get tiring since you have to use both hands, I love the staying power and curl it gives. I was recently sent this 32mm Clipless Curling Iron ($145.95) in Pink from www.leangelique.com to try out and I am loving the amazing volume it gives me. I currently have an Enzo Clipless Curling Iron but the barrel is a lot smaller so I was impressed that the larger barrel on this one gave pretty curls and volume.
It comes with a heat protection glove (because it gets really hot!) and 2 pink hair clips to keep already curled hair back so you can curl the rest of your hair with ease. I like that it already came with the heat glove because there are tons of similar products out there where you would have to buy this separately, and personally I think it should be included by default because it gets really hot, without a glove it's inevitable you will burn your fingers.
It also has a swivel cord, easy heat-up time, and it's light-weight. It evenly distributes heat to prevent any damage to your hair. You can easily see the difference in my video, from my straight hair to major volume! And my curls stayed curly and lasted the next day, definitely recommend if you are having trouble keeping a curl. I also spray Big Sexy Hair hairspray on my curls to help keep them shiny and frizz-free.

SoyFashion.com
Labels: Product Reviews (Makeup: MAC Studio Fix in NW35, Blacktrack Fluidline,
L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara,Verhoeven Bronzer, NYX l/g in Beige)
Happy Monday y'all! I have been meaning to do more videos, but I am waiting to get a new HD video camera so it's better detail...I already have my foundation routine, concealer tutorials, hair, etc. all setup, but I am not liking the way it's coming out on my Canon SD1400, I mean it's okkkkkaaayy quality, even on HD, but not spectacular. So I apologize for any lag, I am still doing research on which video camera I want, so I might just do some small videos until then! **Note I am wearing the Verhoeven bronzer in these pics. :)
Anyway, I wanted to share a really cool site with you guys, www.soyfashion.com, it's where I got this cute bear hoodie from! They sell a few tops, jackets, skirts, dresses, accessories, and beauty and skincare products; I also got the Lioele Aroma Soft Peeling Gel ($18). They are also kind enough to give my readers 10% OFF ALL ITEMS (does not include free shipping, however their shipping rates are beyond reasonable!). USE CODE: nessasary
The Bear Hoodie ($23) comes in other colors as well, a darker brown (which reminds me of a teddy bear I used to have when I was little that was this exact color), a dark gray, and white. The color I have is "White" however it is NOT a stark white, it's more of an off-colored white (think light beige), which I like better anyhow. It's super warm (and can get really hot, so it's ideal for winter) and it's long too, so it looks great over leggings and covers the bum. I love how soft it is to the touch!
The Lioele Aroma Soft Peeling Gel ($18), is something I have never tried before so I was really excited to try something like this. I have seen Yogurt masks and peels before but never gave it much thought, but this is not a mask, it's literally a peeling gel to help slough off dead skin and dirt and give you a smoother and brighter complexion. I wash my face at night, then use this to slough off any dead skin (think facial scrub but not as harsh), and you feel the beads of dirt and/or skin on your fingertips.
Sounds gross I know, but hey at least I know it's working! (I am a seeing is believing kinda of a gal), then just rinse your face and voila! My skin felt so much smoother after using this and the one thing I love is that it's not harsh at all. I currently use St. Ives Face Scrub and that can be harsh at times for my sensitive skin, but you don't even feel much of the beads in the peeling gel, like at all, it really just feels like gel! I LOVE this stuff! I am definitely gonna re-purchase once I am done.

NYX Haul...and bull riding!
Labels: NYX Cosmetics, SwatchesSorry for the lack of posts this week, blogger was down, and I was sore due to "bull riding"... our boss surprised us with a trip to Universal Studios on Wednesday for Employee Appreciation Day, and it was fun! It was so nice of him to do that for the company's 10 year anniversary! We had lunch at Saddle Ranch restaurant, which has a mechanical bull, and I never rode a mechanical bull before so I had to try it! And all I can say is that it's my first and last time LOL. As I write this, I still have 2 big bruises on my legs and my right arm still hurts. :(
I got my dinosaur hoodie featured in the video from Hot Topic, I had a lot of questions about where I got it from so thought i'd mention it on here as well....I got it months ago so it may or may not still be on their website.
And I got eaten by a shark.... :)
Anyway, I ordered a few things from Cherryculture.com when they had their NYX sale, 50% off select items, and thought i'd swatch all of the NYX Lip Liners I own so far, I love how pigmented they are not to mention 10 times cheaper than MAC lip liners and other high-end brands (it's pencil people!)
I also got their Black Label lipstick in "Cancun Pink" (I loved their other shade "Dusty Rose" too!), and their round lipstick in "Snow White". It looks really, really dark in the tube but it comes out a nice perfect red! Let me know if you want me to compare these to other pink and red lipsticks I own, and I will be happy to! :)
I also got their nailpolish in "Dolly Pink" which is a gorgeous color and their jumbo eye pencil in "Milk" to use as a base on some eyeshadows. The lipgloss is NYX's "Beige", which is one of my favorite glosses and had to restock.
