I was really excited when Sigma Beauty sent me a brush kit from their Make Me Up Collection ($99) to do a review on my blog, I have always been a fan of their brushes and have a few brushes from them that I absolutely love because they have good quality brushes, not to mention how affordable their brushes are in comparison to MAC brushes.

Their Make Me Up Collection comes in 4 colors, each one of them are named differently and have its own unique cute cartoon character on the box: Black (Make Me Classy), Purple (Make Me Crazy), Coral (Make Me Blush), and Aqua (Make Me Cool). Each brush kit is $99 (not including shipping and taxes).

It's a 12-piece kit, w/the following brushes:

Small Angle - E65 - Essential for the application of gel or cream eyeliner on the upper and lower lash line. This brush is also excellent for filling out the eyebrows. Synthetic bristles.

Eyeliner - E05 - An extra-fine tipped synthetic fiber brush that delivers a precise, firm, even stroke to line the eyes.

Pencil - E30 - Precise application of color on the crease, outer corner, and upper and lower lash line. Also ideal to smudge out pencil liner. Natural bristles.

Medium Angled Shading - E70 - Angled, tapered, flat top. Ideal to apply highlight shades underneath the eyebrow and on the inner corners. It can also be used for a precise application of darker shades on the crease area. Natural bristles.

Large Shader - E60 - Flat shape is ideal for application of cream formulas and eye shadow primers. It also works great with loose eye shadows or pigments. Can be used to apply color all over the lid or precisely on the lash line. Natural bristles.

Large Angled Contour - F40 - The angled shape makes this brush ideal to apply blush or contour shades. Natural bristles.

Large Powder - F30 - Very dense with a rounded top. Ideal to apply powder products on face and body. Natural bristles.

Duo Fibre - F50 - Specially designed to generate an ‘airbrushed’ finish when used to apply liquid foundation. It can also be used to apply blush, highlight shades and loose pigments. Blend of synthetic and natural bristles.

Foundation - F60 - Can be used to apply liquid or cream foundation. It is also recommended to apply moisturizers and conceal large areas. Synthetic bristles.

Concealer - F70 - The rounded, tapered, flat shape makes this brush ideal to conceal the under eye area. It is also recommended for a precise application in small areas. Synthetic bristles.

Tapered Blending - E40 - Rounded and tapered top. Specially designed to apply and blend color on the crease. Natural bristles.

Eye Shading - E55 - Soft and dense with a rounded finish. Can be used to apply pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. Ideal to build intense color on the eyelid. Natural bristles.

PROS: Great for travel as it has a sturdy case, turns into 2 brush cup holders, one for dirty brushes and one for clean brushes. Great starter kit to have for those who are new to makeup or are just looking for some quality brushes. Has basic brushes for all over makeup application and the bristles are really soft. Great price for all 12 brushes including the case. (MAC brushes already cost like $80 just for 2 brushes!)

CONS: I just wish it had a lip brush and maybe other basic brushes such as a spoolie or an eyelash/eyebrow comb.

Overall: It's a great kit to have. I love that it's sturdy and is easy to take along and can withstand my travels! A lot better than my old brush roll. The fact that it has 2 brush cups is nice too, helps keep things organized when it comes to which brushes to clean, etc. These brushes are also well worth the price, you get so much; all the basic brushes to do a full face, and they are high quality brushes. I highly recommend!

Borghese Bel Viso 7 Piece Skincare Kit

Another Sunday post! I am hoping in a few weeks to get back to doing some looks and tutorials if time allows! Borghese was nice to send me their Bel Viso kit for a review, and since I have become such a big fan of their products, I was really excited to try the ones I haven't tried yet, and I know I've said it before but ALL their products smell amazing! Like a nice soft, scent you would smell when you walk into a spa. This ENTIRE KIT is $54 on QVC.com! That's a steal! And gives you the opportunity to try their best selling products at once for a low price. Even the reviews give this awesome kit 5 stars. These are NOT sample sizes in this kit, they are generous sizes that will last you a long time so that you can accurately see if they work for you.

I highly recommend this kit for you ladies with dry-normal skin since it's really moisturizing and helps with those whose skin has been affected by winter weather. It keeps my skin moisturized without feeling greasy and without causing me to breakout; and there's a lot of product to last me a long time.

What's in the kit:

• 2.5 oz Esfoliante Delicato
• 1 fl oz Fluido Protettivo advanced spa lift for eyes
• 4 fl oz Effetto Immediato spa soothing tonic
• 2.5 oz Fango active mud for face and body
• 1 fl oz CuraForte moisture intensifier
• 1 fl oz Crema Straordinaria Da Giorno SPF25
• 1-oz Dolce Notte re-energizing night creme

My regimen:
I use the Esfoliante Delicato Gentle Cleanser and Exfoliant to cleanse my face in the morning or at night (I only use it once a day to avoid over drying my face), I then spritz a little of the Spa Soothing Tonic on my face and let it sink in and dry (it's also a great skin refresher) as it hydrates and moisturizes the skin. If it's the morning, I apply the Day Treatment Cream with SPF 25, at night I mix the CuraForte Moisture Intensifier with the Dolce Notte Re-Energizing Night Cream (both of which I did an in-depth review in past posts) and apply it on my face; then apply the Fluido Protettivo Advanced Spa Lift for Eyes cream around my eye area to help moisturize my eyes and keep them supple, since that area tends to get dry.

Once a week I use the Fango Active Mud for face and body (at least try to use it one a week!)

VLUX Eyeshadow Palette in "Surrealist"

I know I haven't been posting as much, wedding planning and life is getting the best of me, but I finally had a chance to do a look using the VLUX Palette in "Surrealist" ($36). For the lips, I used MAC's Lady Gaga Viva Glam lipglass. VLUX is an up and coming makeup company located in Los Angeles, and their eyeshadow palette is amazingly pigmented! Each palette is $36, which is roughly $7.20 each eyeshadow, and is relatively cheaper than a MAC eyeshadow pan refill, and their shipping is reasonable. Each one contains 5 eyeshadow pans that go on smooth and there are some nice shades to choose from.  The "Surrealist" palette features nice silky silvers and shades of blue. The second silver color from the left is super pretty, it reminds me of a cross between MAC's "Knight Divine" e/s and "Vex".

BB Creams from TheBBCreamShop.com

 

I have always wondered about BB Creams, and always wanted to try them out since I think they make awesome tinted moisturizers not just because they cover blemishes and even the skin out, but because many of them have sunscreen protection and acne fighting ingredients. So I was really happy when I had the opportunity to try out a few BB creams out for the first time from www.thebbcreamshop.com. These are definitely ideal for those of you who prefer to wear tinted moisturizer over foundation, or don't need a lot of coverage. The pics below are all of the creams with no primer, or foundation underneath.

Many BB Creams come in one color only, so try to find one that is closest to your skin tone, you can always add some powder foundation on top (even transparent powder) to make it more matte or to closely match your natural skin color.

Super Beblesh Balm ($21)- It is very hydrating to the skin, and easy to apply. I love the vacuum style pump it has to ensure you get every last drop in the bottle (no lock however, so be careful when traveling with it to prevent any leaks). It claims to whiten, improve wrinkles, control sebum, and has SPF 25. It has adenosine and arbutin ingredients which help whiten and helps with the elasticity of skin. It also has the phyto complex ingredient which is good for moisturizing the skin. You can also use it as a makeup base and/or foundation to correct any skin discolorations. I particularly liked that it didn't look too oily on, covered up any blemishes or discoloration and blended into my skin easily. It sorta has a light sunscreen scent and is the darkest shade out of the four and felt it was the most closest to my natural skin color.


Great for those with: Dull and sullen skin, blemish prone skins and sensitive skin. But can be used for all skin types.

Caviar Gold BB Cream ($25)- Tried 'natural skin beige'. Has whitening and calming effects, also has SPF 21. Has natural ingredients such as actual caviar, aloe,  and vitamin B. It has no weird scent or anything due to the caviar, and trust me you would never know it does, because it's like a normal tinted moisturizer. Has a drugstore foundation smell, out of the four, it's the lightest color. It comes in a squeeze tube bottle and you don't need to apply a lot for coverage, a dab here and there does the trick.


Great for: Dry skin as it has a lot more moisturizing ingredients. 

Etude House BB Magic Cream ($17)- This one comes in two types, one for oily skin and one for dry skin. I believe the one I have is for dry skin (which is my skin type). This one comes in a tiny tube with a pump at the bottom. It's very opaque so it has great coverage. It has a light floral scent and blends well. It gives a whitish cast upon application but will blend naturally with your skin tone once it sets. Oddly enough it still looked pretty white on me even after I let it settle for a few minutes.

Great for: All skin types, and for the no-makeup look.

Medibeau BB Cream ($14)- There's no description in English on their website, so I'll just describe my own observations, it smells very medicinal and the fact that it has a medical cross on the box makes me a little weary lol. It dries really fast and has a more solid consistency then the others once out of the tube, however when you rub it into the skin it feels more watery and surprisingly is the least opaque out of the group. It has SPF 40. I thought it also was the one that made my face really shiny, you would have to put some powder over it to make it more matte.  I took a pic but it came out blurry so here's a side view pic:
