Quick FOTD using Silverthorn e/s
Labels: LOOKS: SILVER, LOOKS: SMOKY EYES
Here is a quick look I did real quick as a request from a reader who was looking for a white and silver look, I used MAC e/s in "Gesso" in the inner corners, "Silverthorn" e/s from A Rose Romance collection, and a bit of NYX "Black" eyeshadow to make it more dramatic for an evening look. I also used "Blush of Youth" beauty powder on the cheeks. I am also being brave and decided to test out MAC's Studio Tech Foundation (the compact), it's a cream based foundation (not overly creamy), and so far so good (no breakouts *knocks on wood*). I will let you know ladies know how I like it hopefully by the end of this week...I have so many posts to write and I am trying to find time to do it all!
How-to:
I first applied a primer (Smashbox Eye Primer), then applied "Gesso" on the inner corner of my lids first with a sponge tip applicator; I then applied "Silverthorn" e/s with the other side of the applicator, then applied NYX "Black" with a bit of MAC e/s in "Knight Divine" using a small eyeshadow brush I got from Wal-Mart, on the outer-V then blended on the contour(crease) of the eye. Then applied highlight color and blended all the colors. Re-apply "Gesso" if you accidentally blended too much and it looks a bit faded.
Anyway here is what I used:
[Face]
- MAC Skin Base Face Primer
- MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer in NC30
- MAC Studio Tech Foundation in NC35
[Cheeks]
- MAC A Rose Romance "Blush of Youth" beauty powder
- MAC MSF in "Petticoat" on the apples of the cheeks for a little shimmer
[Eyes]
- Smashbox Eye Primer
- MAC e/s in "Gesso" on the inner corner of the lid
- MAC e/s in "Silverthorn" on the middle of the lid
- NYX e/s in "Black" with a bit of MAC e/s in "Knight Divine" on outer-V and contour
- MAC "Shroom" e/s as highlight
- Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen
- L'Oreal XXL Mascara in Blackest Black
- Urban Decay "Zero" on lower lashline
[Lips]
- MAC "Snob" lipstick
- MAC "Steal My Heart" lipglass (LE)

FOTD: Using "Fashion Mews" l/s
Labels: LOOKS: SMOKY EYES, LOOKS: TEAL**Answered C-Box Questions :)
This is a look I did last Friday sporting the "Fashion Mews" lipstick from the Hello Kitty collection. It's a light pink with a nice undertone in it so it's not dead looking on your lips. I have done a teal & black smokey look before, but it wasn't as vibrant as this one...
For the eyes I used MAC "Too Dolly" e/s on the inner corner of my lid, Ben Nye's Eyeshadow in "Jade", BFTE (Beauty From the Earth) Mineral eyeshadow in "Jaded", Purely Cosmetics e/s in "Spring Green" and MMBB (My Minerals Bath & Body) Eyeshadow in "Smokey Green" (even though it's a nice shimmery black to me!). I also used Urban Decay eyeliner in "Electric" on my lower lashline for a little pop of color.
What I used:
[Face]
- Purely Cosmetics Mineral Foundation in "Olive Beige"
[Cheeks]
- MAC Fafi "Hipness" Blush
[Eyes]
- MAC "Too Dolly" e/s (LE) on the inner corner of the eye
- Ben Nye e/s in "Jade" on lower half of the lid
- A bit of PC e/s in "Spring green" blended with BFTE "Jaded" on top of Ben Nye e/s (applied slightly wet using a sponge tip applicator)
- MMBB "Smokey Green" applied dry on the outer-V and contour
- MAC e/s in "Ricepaper" as highlight
- Urban Decay Eyeliner in "Electric" on lower lashline
- MAC Fluidline in "Blacktrack"
- L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara in "Blackest Black"
[Lips]
- MAC lipstick in "Fashion Mews"(LE)
- Touch of "Fleur de light" lipglass from the MAC Holiday Lipgloss set

FOTD & Tutorial: Smoked Purple & My Holiday Dress!
Labels: Fashion, LOOKS: PURPLE, LOOKS: SMOKY EYES, TutorialsSo the company holiday party is next Friday in lovely posh Beverly Hills; it should be exciting since we have a lot more people working at our company now, all of them around the same age, and they are all pretty cool. And of course everyone is bringing their significant others, so I am sure it'll be a fun night! It's semi-formal attire and since I don't really own too many dresses, (I have like 2 semi-formal dresses, one doesn't fit anymore and the other I wore to LAST year's holiday party so that's a no, LOL), I ended up buying this silver number at the Ontario Mills Mall (the store is called Group USA in case you are also looking for a dress!). I bought it for $120 with tax, which is good considering I will probably wear it to my sister's Debutante Ball early next year (she is turning 18), and it's stretchy in case I gain weight LOL.
I am thinking to do either a smokey eye (since I don't wear anything like that to work) or maybe a silver/black eye....not sure yet I might have to play with looks this week...
I really, really, really liked THIS dress, but the size 4 and 6 were TOO small on me since it seemed like their sizes ran really small (I couldn't even zip up the back!) and they didn't have any sizes after that...so it made my decision easier haha.
Anyway, here is a quick black and purple look I did the other day, it's similar to another look I did awhile back but I wanted to use "Scene" e/s and "Black Ore", whereas in the other look Milani "Storm" and "Shock" were the only colors I pretty much used...and of course I had to watermark my damn face!
Someone asked what I suggest for the BEST nude/pink lip? I like NYX's "Lilac Field" lipgloss, it's the perfect baby pink and can be layered on top of a nude lipstick for a bit of color (so you don't look too dead!), such as NYX lipstick in "Circe", "MAC "Myth" or "Fleshpot" l/s. A dupe for MAC "Scene" eyeshadow I suggest is Flirt! Cosmetics e/s in "Black Ivy".
What I used:
[Face]
- Smashbox Primer
- Lorac Concealer
- Dior Forever Skin Liquid Foundation in "Medium Beige" (review coming soon!)
[Cheeks]
- MAC Blush in "Coygirl"
- Milani "Luminous"
- MAC MSF in "Petticoat"
[Eyes]
- Shespace Black Primer on lower half of the lid
- MAC "Scene" e/s on top of primer
- MAC "Black Ore" pigment clusters (optional if you want shimmer)
- MAC "Satellite Dreams" and Milani "Shock" on top of the black eyeshadow (crease)
- MAC "Gorgeous" e/s as highlight
- MAC Fluidline in "Blacktrack"
- Urban Decay Eyeliner in "Rockstar" on lower lashline
- MUFE Fiber Mascara
- L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara
[Lips]
- MAC l/s in "California Dreamin' (LE)
- NYX Lipgloss in "Lilac Field"

Smokey Eyes Palette FOTD
Labels: LOOKS: SMOKY EYES, TutorialsFinally, here is the breakdown of the smokey eye I did a few posts back using the MAC Holiday Smokey Eyes Palette. (I finished all the "Twilight" books so now I have a bit more time LOL). For some reason the eyes look lighter in the full face pic, but it was much darker...
You can definitely make it darker and more "smokey", since I wore this to work, I didn't make it TOO dark (in the tut), but be as creative as you want! :)
What I used:
[Face]
- MUFE HD Primer
- MUFE HD Foundation in #127
- Purely Cosmetics Mineral Foundation in "Olive Beige"
[Cheeks]
- MAC Blush in "True Romantic"
[Eyes]
- MAC Holiday '08 Smokey Eyes Palette
- MAC "Gorgeous" e/s all over the lid
- MAC e/s in "Vex" on lower half of the lid (permanent e/s, not in palette)
- MAC e/s in "Satin Taupe" on outer-v and crease
- MAC e/s in "Dark Devotion" on outer-v and outer crease
- MAC e/s in "Carbon" on outer-v and outer crease
- MAC Fluidline in "Blacktrack"
- L'Oreal Double Extend Mascara
[Lips]
- MAC Adoring Carmine's "To Swoon For" lipstick
- MAC Holiday "Flashmode" lipglass
Apply "Carbon" on outer-V as well (forgot to take a pic but here's an old pic from another tut)
