FOTD/Tutorial: Black & Gray Smokey Look

.

I had a lot of questions regarding my last post on the primer, most of your answers were actually mentioned IN the post, it DOES contain silicone (hence the ingredients "dimethicone" and Silica), it has a gel-like consistency, similar to that of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, and I recommend using your moisturizer first, let it DRY, and then apply your primer. This avoids blotchiness of your mineral makeup. And YES it can be used with liquid foundation as well!

What I used:

Face:
- Camellia Roes Skin Soothing Primer
- MMBB Mineral Foundation in "Medium Beige"

Cheeks:
- Jordana Blush in "Stardust"
- MAC "Strada" Blush
- MAC MSF in "Gold Spill"

Eyes:

- MAC Paint Pot in "Soft Ochre" (as base and all over the lid)
- MAC Silver Pigment on inner corner of the lids
- MAC "Cumulus" eyeshadow on middle of the lid
- MAC "Silver Ring" eyeshadow on outer-V and contour
- Indelible Gel Eyeliner in "Black Out"
- Lancome Mascara Base
- Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara
- No name brand Kohl eyeliner smudged on lower lashline and waterline

Lips:
- Milani Lipstick in "Dolce Vita"
- AVON "Latte" Lipgloss

Step 1: Apply "Soft Ochre" Paint Pot all over eyelids.

Step 2: Apply "Rondelle" eyeshadow all over the lid.

Step 3: Apply MAC "Silver" Pigment on the inner corners of the lids.

Step 4: Apply "Cumulus" eyeshadow and "Silver Ring" on outer-V and contour.

BLEND!!!!

I also got my Lancome haul, which disappointedly didn't suit my taste, so it's going back! They look pigmented, but ALL the lipsticks were SHEER!

I also got an Amuse Palette that was sent to me, very well pigmented, haven't played with it yet...

That sucks when the lipsticks look really nice, then you try them and they're nothing but sheer :(

The Amuse palette does look pretty pigmented! I can see the sheen in them already. Exciting!

And OF COURSE you're looking sultry as ever!

I love this look. You look like a bombshell :) I don't like Lancome products either, everything that I have tried from them from eyeshadows to lipsticks to glosses to blushes...they've all disappointed me with their lack of pigments. Maybe you can trade those products for their foundation and powders, those are pretty good.

Very nice! I did a similar look to this last night... but a little softer. Looks great on you. Your pictures are so clear. I wish I had a camera like yours (:

Christiana- Thank you doll! Yeah I have tried some Amuse eyeshadows before but a company sent me a palette, so I thought id try it out!

Heekyung- Thanks! I will try and so some swatches and a review soon!

Lynne- Thanks sis! Yeah I mean they look really pretty and well-pigmented, but SUPER SUPER sheer! I was so disappointed on how little color showed up!

Anne- Glad I saw you too!

Sandy- The lipstick is called "Desert Pink", quite sheer...

Lisa- Most def! I will try and do a look using the Amuse e/s.

Linda- Sure thing!

Kaikai- Thank you! I am sure you can do this look, practice makes perfect!

Petitebelle- Thank you! Yeah I don't like Lancome either, I got their "Seashell" lipgloss because I saw a swatch of it and I love that, so I thought id give em another chance and again, they proved me right! And $26 each lipstick isn't worth it at all.

Mimi- Thank you! Yours looks gorgeous! Yeah I just got a new camera so im still getting used to all the settings!

Love the look! Is the Amuse set from Cherry Culture? Some of their palettes seem to be on sale. Let me know how they work! (When you're not too busy, that is)
